การศึกษาปริยัติธรรมคือรากแก้วสำคัญในการสืบทอดอายุพระพุทธศาสนาให้สถาพร ยิ่งในยุคปัจจุบันที่การเผยแผ่พระธรรมคำสอนต้องก้าวข้ามพรมแดน การสร้างศาสนทายาทให้มีความรู้แตกฉานทั้งในด้านพระธรรมวินัยและเท่าทันศาสตร์สมัยใหม่ จึงเป็นภารกิจหลักที่มหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณราชวิทยาลัย (มจร) ดำเนินมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง ภายใต้ร่มเงาแห่งศรัทธาของพุทธบริษัททั้งในและต่างประเทศ
เมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ 29 พฤษภาคม พุทธศักราช 2569 เวลา 09.19 น. ณ ห้องประชุม VIP ศูนย์ประชุมสหประชาชาติ ถนนราชดำเนินนอก กรุงเทพมหานคร ได้ปรากฏภาพแห่งศาสนสัมพันธ์อันงดงามขึ้นในสังฆมณฑล เมื่อ พระพรหมวัชรธีราจารย์ อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณราชวิทยาลัย พร้อมด้วย พระสิทธิวัชรบัณฑิต รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายกิจการต่างประเทศ มจร เมตตารับการถวายทุนการศึกษาอุปถัมภ์นิสิต เป็นเงินจำนวน 2,000,000 บาท (สองล้านบาทถ้วน) จาก Most Venerable Shi Kuan Yun (พระมหาเถระ สือ กวาน ยุ้น) ประธานสมาคมพระพุทธศาสนาแห่งฮ่องกง, อธิการบดีสถาบันถังลัมผาสุกาวดี (Hong Kong Tung Lum Pure Land Institute) และเจ้าอาวาสวัดถังลัมเนี่ยนฝาต่ง
ในพิธีรับมอบครั้งนี้ พระสิทธิวัชรบัณฑิต ในฐานะประธานคณะกรรมการจัดหาทุนการศึกษาอุปถัมภ์นิสิต มจร ได้กราบถวายรายงานต่อพระเดชพระคุณพระพรหมวัชรธีราจารย์ อธิการบดี ว่า มหาเถระสือ กวาน ยุ้น ในฐานะอธิการบดีวิทยาลัยพระพุทธศาสนาฮ่องกง ซึ่งเป็นสถาบันสมทบของ มจร ได้ปวารณาตนเป็นเจ้าภาพอุปถัมภ์ทุนการศึกษาแก่นิสิตประจำปีการศึกษา 2569 นี้ เพื่อเกื้อหนุนให้ศาสนทายาทได้ศึกษาเล่าเรียนอย่างสืบเนื่อง โดยคณะกรรมการฯ ได้กำหนดจัดพิธีพิธีสามีจิกรรมและถวายทุนการศึกษาแก่นิสิต มจร อย่างเป็นทางการ ในวันพุธที่ 17 มิถุนายน พุทธศักราช 2569 เวลา 09.09 น. ณ หอประชุม มวก 48 พรรษา มหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณราชวิทยาลัย อำเภอวังน้อย จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา
โอกาสนี้ พระพรหมวัชรธีราจารย์ อธิการบดี ได้กล่าวอนุโมทนากถา ขอบคุณในเมตตาจิตของ Most Venerable Shi Kuan Yun ที่ได้เอื้อเฟื้อเกื้อหนุนศาสนศึกษาด้วยดีเสมอมา ในฐานะภาคีสถาบันสมทบที่ร่วมกันปูรากฐานทางปัญญาให้แก่กุลบุตรผู้เข้ามาพึ่งใบบุญในบวรพระพุทธศาสนา พร้อมทั้งได้กล่าวชื่นชมพระสิทธิวัชรบัณฑิต รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายกิจการต่างประเทศ ที่ได้บำเพ็ญบุญกิริยาวัตถุในส่วนของ เวยยาวัจจมัย ขวนขวายในกิจที่ชอบ ช่วยประสานงานสิบทิศจนเกิดผลาอานิสงส์เป็นทุนการศึกษาจำนวนมาก ย่อมทำให้เสนาสนะและสถาบันการศึกษาแห่งนี้เป็นอู่ข้าวอู่น้ำทางปัญญาของภิกษุสามเณรอย่างแท้จริง
การร่วมมือกันระหว่างคณะสงฆ์ไทยและคณะสงฆ์ฮ่องกงในครั้งนี้ คือรูปธรรมแห่ง สังฆสามัคคี ที่แสดงให้เห็นว่า แม้จะต่างนิกายและห่างไกลด้วยภูมิศาสตร์ แต่เมื่อมีเป้าหมายเพื่อรักษาพจนารถแห่งองค์สมเด็จพระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า ศรัทธาย่อมหลอมรวมเป็นหนึ่งเดียว ทุนอุปถัมภ์เหล่านี้นอกจากจะช่วยแบ่งเบาภาระของพระภิกษุสามเณรในระดับรากหญ้าแล้ว ยังเป็นแรงขับเคลื่อนให้สัทธิวิหาริกและอันเตวาสิกผู้เป็นศิษย์ในศาสนมณฑล ได้มีกำลังใจในการครองตนตามข้อวัตรปฏิบัติ และมุ่งมั่นศึกษาพระปริยัติธรรมเพื่อนำไปอบรมบ่มนิสัยญาติโยมพุทธบริษัทต่อไป

A Stream of Generosity Without Borders: Hong Kong Mahathera Grants 2-Million-Baht Scholarship to Support MCU’s Ecclesiastical Education on the Global Stage
Scriptural education (Pariyatti Dhamma) is the crucial taproot for sustaining the longevity of Buddhism. Especially in the contemporary era, where the propagation of the Dhamma must transcend geographical boundaries, the nurturing of religious heirs to be thoroughly well-versed in the Dhamma-Vinaya (the Dhamma and Monastic Discipline) and adaptable to modern sciences remains the primary mission that Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU) has continually undertaken, under the sheltered faith of the Buddhist community both domestically and internationally.
On Friday, May 29, Buddhist Era 2569 (2026) at 9:19 a.m., at the VIP Meeting Room of the United Nations Conference Centre on Ratchadamnoen Nok Avenue, Bangkok, a magnificent image of religious bonds manifested within the monastic circle. Phra Promwachiratheeracharn, Rector of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, alongside Phra Sithiwachirabandit, Vice Rector for Foreign Affairs of MCU, graciously received the presentation of an educational scholarship fund for students amounting to 2,000,000 Baht (Two Million Baht net) from the Most Venerable Shi Kuan Yun, President of The Hong Kong Buddhist Association, Chancellor of The Hong Kong Tung Lum Pure Land Institute, and Abbot of the Hong Kong Tung Lum Nien Fah Tong.
During this presentation ceremony, Phra Sithiwachirabandit, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Committee for Securing Student Scholarships of MCU, presented an official report to the Venerable Rector, Phra Promwachiratheeracharn, stating that the Most Venerable Shi Kuan Yun, as the Chancellor of the Hong Kong Buddhist College—an affiliated institute of MCU—has made a formal vow (Pavarana) to host this educational scholarship fund for MCU students for the academic year 2026. This fund aims to support religious heirs in pursuing their education continuously. The Committee has scheduled the official ceremony for presenting the scholarships to the MCU students on Wednesday, June 17, Buddhist Era 2569 (2026) at 9:09 a.m., at the MCU 48th Birthday Auditorium, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Wang Noi District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.
On this occasion, the Rector, Phra Promwachiratheeracharn, delivered an address of appreciation, expressing gratitude for the profound benevolence of the Most Venerable Shi Kuan Yun, who has consistently aided and sustained ecclesiastical education as an affiliated institute partnering to lay the foundations of wisdom for the sons of good families who seek spiritual shelter under the Buddhist faith. Furthermore, the Rector commended Phra Sithiwachirabandit, Vice Rector for Foreign Affairs, for performing acts of merit (Punnakiriya-vatthu) through Veyyāvaccamaya—diligently devoting effort to virtuous causes and coordinating seamlessly across all directions to secure this substantial scholarship fund. This dedication ensures that this academic institution and its monastic residences (Senasana) remain a true sanctuary of intellectual and spiritual nourishment for monks and novices.
This collaboration between the Thai and Hong Kong monastic bodies stands as a concrete manifestation of Sangha-samaggi (monastic unity), proving that despite differences in sects and physical distances, when the shared goal is to preserve the pristine words of the Lord Buddha, faith merges into a unified whole. These patronizing scholarships will not only alleviate the material burdens of monks and novices at the grassroots level but will also serve as a powerful impetus for Saddhivihārika and Antevāsika (monastic disciples) within the religious sphere to remain steadfast in their monastic conduct according to the established codes, and to diligently master scriptural studies in order to rightly guide and instruct the Buddhist laity in the future.
